Transport for London wanted to implement their next generation of ticketing machines, enabling a more interactive, immersive customer experience and contactless payment, whilst still allowing an existing group of passengers who still rely on cash payment.
Our design team developed a number of concept directions to present to TfL who selected this concept to take forward and were closely involved to inform the design from the early stages. I worked closely with our client Cubic Transportation Systems and their engineers to bring together the industrial design of the 'book' concept story with the rigorous functional requirements set out by TfL's strict specifications.
They are currently rolling out at some TfL and Rail operated stations.
