Our client, NuSkin, developed a skincare system based around their scientifically proven technology using an oscillating rotating rubberised head. We explored a number of handheld device concepts around this mechanism. This route was selected based on the consumer testing outcome.
I worked closely with the client's technical partner to develop the concept for manufacture whilst maintaining design intent through multiple rounds of iteration. I managed the technical challenges related to specification changes, manufacturing process and material limitations which influenced the final design.
Throughout the design phases, we made proof-of-principle mockups and appearance models from the surface data. This data was also used directly by the technical partner to continue the design-for-manufacture phase in SolidWorks with my close collaboration.
